Very brief introduction, nothing more。 Not very well written, low quality illustrations。 Lots of anecdotal examples with little explanation。Disappointing。

The good: short and up to the point。The bad: short and largely theoretical AND way too simplified at once。The hilarious (!): I cracked up trying to imagine what 'Picasso-Perfect Designs' would look like。 If one actually has a look at Picasso's works, one'd think those wouldn't be quite as perfect as the author seems to think。 The good: short and up to the point。The bad: short and largely theoretical AND way too simplified at once。The hilarious (!): I cracked up trying to imagine what 'Picasso-Perfect Designs' would look like。 If one actually has a look at Picasso's works, one'd think those wouldn't be quite as perfect as the author seems to think。 。。。more

Good book for beginners。

I have more than 20 years of experience in software development and business analysis and appreciated this succinct guide to business analysis, specially since it compares agile and waterfall approaches。 The book is very practical and it can serve as an introduction, a refresher, or a reference, depending on your level of experience。

It’s a real shame that this content is considered a book。 At least it gets all the phrases and acronyms right。 2 stars just for that。

Alvaro

Summary of concepts。 Quick read。 Not very useful beyond a review。

Ivan Acosta

Cool this book, because show an introduction for all concepts about how to build an application and h how to align business expectations with the solution。 However, for persons or consultants with more experience, this book can be bored。

Fabio Silva

An interesting summary If you have experienced being a BA in the past and want a quick catch-up so this is an interesting book。

Alvaro

A very brief account of the methodology explained through a simple case easy to follow。 Well written, clear and short。

Vinayak Joshi

A quick read。 Useful。 Not too many details。 But good to get an introduction to the field。

Informative

Very concise and insightful。This book should be called a "How-To" of Business Analysis。☺ The contents are straight to the points and would serve as my reference points。 Very concise and insightful。This book should be called a "How-To" of Business Analysis。☺ The contents are straight to the points and would serve as my reference points。 。。。more

Quick and moderately usefulEverything was summarized as if it was a case study for a specific client, which wasn't clear by the more general title。This book will not give you a good idea of the details of ba specific methodology or theory as it seemed to use a combination approach in the selected exampleAt times the reasoning for the selection of methods was not fully clear。Overall it was quick enough to read through and contained a decent summary of some good common sense to apply on a software Quick and moderately usefulEverything was summarized as if it was a case study for a specific client, which wasn't clear by the more general title。This book will not give you a good idea of the details of ba specific methodology or theory as it seemed to use a combination approach in the selected exampleAt times the reasoning for the selection of methods was not fully clear。Overall it was quick enough to read through and contained a decent summary of some good common sense to apply on a software project。 。。。more

Okay。 Not a long book but it felt like a long read。 However。 There were some good pieces; just don’t let this be your first book on the subject。

It's a very interesting book, but is very very brief, it's not detailed at all。 I think that as a first approach is a book that could help you to understand basic concepts about the Business Analyst world, like the tools, the concepts, the steps, etc。 For a person that is currently working as a Business Analyst could be very very basic, so I recommend this book just for people that is a beginner in this position, or for people that wants to know more about this kind of topics。 It's a very interesting book, but is very very brief, it's not detailed at all。 I think that as a first approach is a book that could help you to understand basic concepts about the Business Analyst world, like the tools, the concepts, the steps, etc。 For a person that is currently working as a Business Analyst could be very very basic, so I recommend this book just for people that is a beginner in this position, or for people that wants to know more about this kind of topics。 。。。more

The book is very quick to read, and although interesting, its brevity makes it shallow, not adding many different insights to myself, as I was already familiar with the subject。 May be a nice option for starters, though, as the author writes in a very accessible manner。

Great book for beginners with useful insights for experienced practitioners I like the use of case study running throughout the book to demonstrate full BA engagement in a project lifecycle。
